Man Slaps Child
A 61-year-old man slaps a child in a Walmart, not only that, but it’s not his child!
Roger Stephens heard a 2 year old baby crying non-stop and approached the mother (Sonya Matthews) in an aisle saying “if you don’t shut that baby up, I will shut her up for you.” It turns out it wasn’t just an idle threat as the old man slapped the child four times!
Stephens reportedly then said, “See, I told you I would shut her up.”
A bystander jumped in to help out and held Stephens until Walmart security
Police arrived later and Stephens is being prosecuted for child cruelty and is being held Gwinnett County Detention Center without bond. Stephens admitted that he had slapped the child and said that he apologized to Mathews, according to the report.
The child suffered some redness to the face according to the police report.
