Kobe Bryant & Ex-Maid
Kobe Bryant just can’t seem to stay out of the media spotlight. Now his maid is suing him claiming abuses, mistreatment and low pay.
Maria Jimenez claims Vanessa verbally abused her while she worked there from September 2007 to March 2008. A judge in Orange County California has thrown out some parts of Maria Jimenez’ suit, claiming that the treatment is part of the job.
Here’s part of his ruling:
“Here, plaintiff alleges that she was subjected to abuse and humiliation by Vanessa Bryant during her employment. This type of behavior is, unfortunately, part of many types of employment, and is to be expected as a risk inherent in the employment relationship.’’
He did, however, grant that she CAN file suit for wrongful termination. Another complaint the ex-maid had was that she wasn’t paid overtime, or given health benefits.
By far the most interesting part of the debacle is that the Bryant’s made her sign a confidentiality agreement, which could prevent her from dishing the specifics about what occurred during her employment. She apparently tried to work her way around that agreement so that she could speak to the media about what transpired.
Some information has made its way out, though. TMZ reported back in March about some of the horrors that Jimenez allegedly endured, which included being forced to stick her hand in dog poop, and being degraded in front of guests and family members. She even claims Mrs. Bryant violated her privacy by watching her change on security cameras.
Wow, I bet the Bryant’s had a heck of a time finding a new maid once these allegations came out!
