Obama on Letterman

Barack Obama must have all sorts of free time since he is appearing on the latest Letterman show. You would think a President would have more important matters of state at hand.

If Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama was worried about his declining poll ratings and the Sarah Palin phenomenon, you’d never know it from his appearance on CBS’s Late Night with David Letterman.

Obama, looking relaxed and upbeat, talked about the reaction to his “lipstick on a pig” comment to Sarah Palin’s meteoric rise in the national spotlight to what he would have done if he had been president on 9/11.

He also discussed his first visit to the U.S. mainland as a child growing up in Hawaii, the plight of Africa and Haiti, and his visit today with Bill Clinton (”There’s nobody smarter in politics,” Obama said.)
